Separation anxiety is a disorder among adults when they express feelings of distress and panic when separated from the person or places, they have strong emotional attachment to. We use a variety of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy to help individuals get better.
Mindfulness-based therapies, such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), can be helpful too. These therapies teach individuals how to be present in the moment and to accept their feelings without judgment. This can help the individual to manage their anxiety and to respond to separation triggers in a more calm and centred way.
